These puzzle rooms are more of a tutorial as to the combinations you can try out with your friend abilities rather than a brain teaser. You can also unlock major puzzle pieces which can fill a maximum of three pieces of the picture puzzles. Ones with a single red star represents a minor puzzle room where you use certain elements and abilities to unlock hidden puzzle pieces. The same applies to any of your allies as they can share the same elemental bonuses as you if they wield weapons.Īlong your quest you’ll be greeted with doorways with stars above them. For instance, if you befriend a Blade Knight you’ll have a sword and its skills to your advantage. Absorbing these enemies allows you to control their traits and abilities. Other creatures have elemental effect abilities ranging from fire, water, ice, rock and electricity. Some enemies possess melee weapons and projectiles of their own. As you progress you’ll notice that you can befriend some of the enemies by pressing the X button which releases a heart that when hits, turns your enemy into an ally. Other items in the world to collect are puzzle pieces that form a picture of you and your friends. When you’ve collected enough multi stars you get an extra life. You can use swallowed enemies as a projectile to take out most things in your path, including smashing rocks and wooden crates that hold multi stars for you to collect. With buddies at his side and the ability to absorb their traits and abilities, Kirby Star Allies is a classic Kirby adventure with an interesting twist blanketed in the theme of friendship. This time he gets help from his friends by convincing them with his adorable charm and showering them with hearts as he takes a journey through Dreamland yet again. The marshmallow vacuum ball has been defending his home from world enders and tried his hand at other genres for well over a decade now. Kirby has been around since the mid 90s and brought a whole new world and characters nestled in Dreamland.
